Happy New Year! It’s time for New Year’s resolutions and new beginnings, so why not carry this over to the piano studio? If we don’t create specific goals and plans for our students piano can seem like an endless flow of same-ness. The beginning of a new year is a great time to set up some goals with your students. I am going to use this “Goal Setting Game” from Teach Piano Today with my students this week along with a new piano goal sheet I created. This sheet is similar to a goal sheet we shared a couple years ago (here) but is updated for 2016. I am including a PDF format if you want to use it exactly as is and also a Word document that you can edit for your own needs. I encourage you to help your students fill these out and save them throughout the year to keep record as they complete these goals.
